The creator of Monnalisa Gin is an AIS sommelier for passion, not for work: this same passion led him to develop a deep curiosity for gin. Driven by the desire to create a high quality product and at the same time to make Dumenza known to Italy, he developed the gin by preferring unusual but typical botanicals of the pre-Alpine area, which recalled his hometown and his history, in which remembers the theft of the Mona Lisa.

In fact, the daughter of the protagonist of this story was a neighbor of the creator of the gin and they exchanged anecdotes, fantasizing about the heroic deeds of the improvised thief. The bottle, in fact, has many references to the story of the thief of the Mona Lisa. The idea for developing the recipe is that of a gastronomic gin, that is, a product made with botanicals known to the kitchen, which can be enjoyed throughout the meal.

Monnalisa Gin is characterized by a particular complexity where the chestnut gives a touch of warmth and slightly sweet notes, while the dandelion adds a fresh and floral flavour. The nettle offers a pleasant herbaceous scent while the bay leaves a harmonious balsamic note on the finish.

Its characteristics make this gin perfect for pairing with cured meats, mature cheeses and pasta-based first courses. The typical freshness and bitterness of juniper allow you to clean the mouth, subsequently recalling the greasiness of the dish. However, it remains a multipurpose gin, to be drunk straight at the end of a meal or to mix in the classic Gin Tonic or in more refined cocktails.

The brand refers to the story of the theft of the Mona Lisa, as the thief was the father of the childhood neighbor of the creator of the gin and through this story, as well as through the botanicals of the gin, it wants to make known to the rest of Italy Dumenza and the Val Dumentina, in the province of Varese.
