Cubeb pepper (Piper cubeba) has round berries with a wrinkled surface and is distinguished from black pepper by the petiole that sticks to it like a "tail".
The aromatic tones are pleasant and the flavor is pungent and slightly bitter with resinous and fruity notes. Being delicate, it is particularly suitable for scenting fish dishes with a refined and less decisive taste and is used by confectioners for original combinations with chocolate and fruit.
