Eugin Distilleria Indipendente is the first distillery exclusively dedicated to gin in Northern Italy - the third in Italy. Here they use an alembic - called Robert - custom designed for the needs of the producers, Eugenio and Niccolò Belli, which works both as a traditional pot still and as a carter head.
Their first gins are Eugin N.7 and Eugin N.9. Eugin N. 7 is a very fresh London Dry thanks to the citrus fruits dried directly by the producers without using the white part of the peel, which would give bitter notes to the distillate. Juniper prevails, combined with herbaceous and balsamic hints given by mint, thyme and sage. Iris, licorice and chamomile make the finish particularly soft.
