Rime Craft Distillers represents the fifth generation of the Maschio dynasty, master distillers for almost two centuries, in the heart of the Triveneto. The idea of a "Venetian gin" starts from the recipe of a gin made from juniper only that Domenico Maschio produced in the 40s. River Mentana - Venetian Dry Gin is in fact distilled using juniper as the only botanical, specifically a mix of wild junipers that grow around 400 meters above sea level, on the hills of the left Piave, and high altitude junipers of the "Gran Bosco da Reme from Venice. Gin is also characterized by the alcohol used, produced from wheat, a particular wheat grown near the Venice lagoon and called "Mentana", an ancient, fragrant and creamy wheat with a marked salinity.
The combination of these ingredients makes River Mentana gin very fragrant, not only of juniper, but also of fresh bread, toasted hazelnuts and mint. The taste is full, velvety, with a peculiar salinity due to the basic alcohol, combined with spicy and balsamic notes of juniper.
