Elephant Aged Gin is distilled with the London Dry method in a traditional Arnold Holstein copper alembic in small batches of 600 bottles. The base consists of that of Elephant London Dry gin, with rye alcohol and 14 botanicals of which 5 are African, but in different quantities compared to the original and with an alcohol content of 52% Vol. age for about a year in oak barrels. The result is a silky and spicy gin on the palate, with smoky but sweet notes accompanied by a pleasant hint of vanilla. IS' very soft, especially in the finish, and full-bodied, rich in flavor notes. Perfect drunk neat as well as mixed.
All the bottles are personalized, the label is handwritten and the logo refers to the characters used in the letters that the explorers of the nineteenth century sent home telling about the botanicals they had discovered and their adventures. The Aged version has small design differences that enhance the exclusivity of this limited edition.
Since its inception in September 2013, Elephant Gin donates 15% of revenues to two foundations dedicated to the preservation of African flora and fauna: Big Life Foundation's Ranger Club and Space For Elephants Foundation. The eco-sustainable and socially sustainable production method of Elephant Gin was recognized by Positive Luxury who gave the brand their Butterfly Mark.
