The Kimerud brand is produced in Norway and is inspired by the Viking populations. The 22 botanicals are grown at the distillery or hand-picked by the master distiller Ståle Håvaldsen Johnsen along the Nordic coast and in fact the proximity to the Arctic Sea affects the taste of the gin. One of the most particular botanicals is Rhodiola Rosea, called "Golden Root", to which the Vikings attributed magical properties.
Kimerud Navy Strength Gin pays tribute to the grandfather of the master distiller, Jørgen Kristian Has Nilsen, who was a ship builder and repairer. In fact, with this gin we want to toast to all those who carry out hard and tiring work to provide for their families.
The gin is nice full-bodied and intense. The high alcohol content perfectly highlights the Norwegian botanicals and the pleasant balance makes the gin perfect for any type of gin-based mixing, including martinis!
