The properties of the different wooden barrels can give each batch slightly different organoleptic characteristics, but this does not affect the fundamental characteristics of the final result. This genever has the typical flavor of the malt and wheat base, but is sublimated by the toasted and slightly smoky notes given by the aging process, which are also slightly sweet and citrusy.
