Macaja Cask Gin

Macaja Gin is the artisanal gin created by the Bocchino Distillery, in operation in Piedmont since 1898. The inspiration for the gin comes from a particular atmospheric event, called macaja, whereby the sirocco wind from Liguria crosses the mountains, bringing warmth even in winter on the Piedmont hills. Gin therefore embodies the natural biodiversity of the area that connects Liguria and Piedmont. Macaja Cask Gin is very complex but well balanced, distilled in a discontinuous alembic still with 36 botanicals and aged for six months in small barriques. Spicy and balsamic aromas are the preview of a constantly evolving taste, where juniper, citrus fruits, spices and flowers balance each other in a path made even more intense by aging in cask and which ends in a soft and sweet finish.
