Jamaica pepper (Pimenta dioica), resembling juniper berries in appearance, is the dried fruit of a tree native to Jamaica. It contains in its complex bouquet the scent of nutmeg, clove and cinnamon with a spicy hint that recalls black pepper. For this reason the English name is Allspice. It is a versatile and interesting spice, widely used in the traditional cuisine of many countries.
