From an idea of Bacardi, Gin Oxley is the only gin in the world to be cold distilled, the result of eight long years of research. Requiring a specific machinery for the production, Oxley is produced in about 240 bottles per day.
The "cold" distillation consists in the drastic reduction of temperatures (below zero) with the aim of avoiding "cooking" the botanicals by extracting the true essence of each one as faithfully as possible. The advantages of this method concern both the quality of the final product (the peels of fresh and undried citrus fruits are used to great effect) and the final yield of the product: less waste (cutting the head and tail of the distillate) and more solidity in the connection between aromas and alcohol.
At an organoleptic level Oxley Gin fully reflects its distillation philosophy: the aromas and flavors are fine and calibrated and find their completeness both on the nose and on the palate. Particular attention is given to the citrus aspect, really different than usual; the spiciness is very present on the tip of the tongue, while it is surprising that the gradation is noticeable in a laughable way despite its 47 °.
