Kapriol Dry Gin was born at the end of 2015 after two years of research and experimentation aimed at reproducing the ancient recipe of classic Kapriol (typical mountain liqueur), transforming it into a real gin.
The grapefruit version, on the other hand, is inspired by this story: “The legacy handed down to us by Mr. De Bernard is made up not only of recipes, but also of stories. In one of these, Ferruccio recalls the meeting with a London tourist, which took place during one of his frequent excursions in the Dolomites, to whom he offered his Forestal Gin. The tourist added a grapefruit peel. Struck Ferruccio noted this detail in his diary, smiling at the assonance between the fruit and the mountain and perhaps expecting to one day add a Mediterranean flavor to his mountain gin. "
In this gin the fresh and citrus notes of grapefruit clearly prevail both on the nose and on the palate. The typical balsamic character of Kapriol Dry Gin is maintained, while the herbaceous notes are replaced by citrus notes. Kapriol Monte Pelmo is generally a very fresh, well balanced and very soft gin. Its softness is given by the careful selection of botanicals and not by the addition of sugars.
