Since 1958, the family-run Buosi company has specialized in confectionery products and at the end of the 90s it invented Buosino, a special blend of cocoa and coffee topped with milk foam and dark chocolate grains, accompanied by a teaspoon of chocolate. It is precisely this recipe that inspired Buosi Gin, an Italian Dry Gin with hints of cocoa and coffee. The product design goes back to its origins and takes on the guise of the traditional and ancient milk bottle.
The botanicals are expertly selected and distilled separately. They are Italian juniper berries, Indonesian coffee beans from the Toraja region on the island of Sulawesi, cocoa beans from Sur del Lago (Venezuela), lemons from the Amalfi Coast, Sicilian oranges and wild pepper from Madagascar. The distillates are then combined and the gin is completed with salt from the Sicilian salt pans of Trapani.
On the palate Buosi Gin stands out for the harmonious contrast between the peppery and fresh citrus notes. The freshness of the juniper then emerges followed by light warm notes of bitter cocoa. The light minerality of the salt enhances the flavors without ever invading the palate. There is no sweetness, but there is a rich balance of spice and citrus notes that make this a great gin for blending and food pairing.
